Opportunities for the Body:
Movement & Mobility
The Body is our foundation, and caring for it is a vital act of self-respect. Ataraxia’s physical wellbeing programmes bring together movement, mobility, and mindfulness to improve health in a way that feels accessible and sustainable for all.
Whether it’s bodyweight and resistance training, mindful walks, yoga, pilates, contact sport, or community outdoor sessions, we understand that good physical health and mental wellbeing are deeply interconnected.
Our approach celebrates progress over perfection, helping each participant find balance, strength, and joy in their own personal movement.
We believe that opportunities to improve fitness, to learn martial arts and other physical disciplines such as boxing and wrestling, and to regularly join with a team of supportive peers is instrumental to improving and sustaining excellent mental wellbeing.

Group Based
Activity
Our Group-Based Movement and Mobility sessions focus on building strength, flexibility, and confidence through inclusive, accessible exercise.
Classes use a combination of bodyweight movement, light weights, resistance bands, yoga and pilates to improve functional fitness, posture, and balance.
We occasionally also offer funded beginners’ and taster sessions for activities such as boxing, wrestling, weight training, and dance fitness; all designed to get people moving in ways that are fun, empowering, and achievable for every body.
In partnership with our neighbouring martial arts school and home to a team of professional athletes, the Fighter Blueprint Academy, we are able to accommodate funded and bespoke commissioned group activities in a state-of-the-art base with access to excellent coaching, equipment and facilities.
The often unspoken truth about group-based physical activity is that it is the bridge that connects physical health to mental health. When we work out in a group that offers support, camaraderie and community, we not only build strong bodies, but strong minds.

Nature Based Activity
Stepping outside into green and blue spaces does wonders for both the body and the mind. Our Nature-Based Movement sessions - from mindful canal walks to gentle runs - encourage participants to connect with nature while improving cardiovascular health and mobility.
Research consistently shows that spending time outdoors lowers stress, boosts mood, and enhances a sense of wellbeing. By blending movement with nature connection, we invite you to breathe deeper, feel lighter, and rediscover the joy of being active in the open air.
Civic Servitude
Wellbeing and community thrive together.
Our Civic Servitude sessions combine purposeful movement with positive social impact, such as community clean-ups, litter picking, or local improvement projects.
These activities don’t just benefit our surroundings; they also enhance self-esteem, reduce stress, and foster connection through shared purpose.
Getting moving while giving back to our local area reminds us that small acts of service can build both healthier communities and healthier minds.
